Jason Wallach Providing Pro Bono Services to Consumers Left Without Counsel Berger Kahn bankruptcy lawyer Jason Wallach is providing free legal services to dozens of clients of the Los Angeles Free Clinic who were left without counsel when the clinic closed its legal services operation effective July 1, 2005. Jason, who is chair of the Pro Bono Bankruptcy Committee of the Los Angeles Bar Association, organized a team of 7 volunteer lawyers to draft Chapter 7 bankruptcy petitions for the 75 consumers who were left without counsel. Public Counsel and the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles have also been instrumental in organizing and providing legal services for the affected individuals. The Los Angeles Free Clinic has been providing medical and social services to uninsured and low-income individuals in Los Angeles since 1967. Jason is widely recognized for his bankruptcy expertise and his commitment to pro bono causes. In 2003, Jason was named Public Counsel's Debtor Assistance Project Advocate of the Year. In 2004, he was honored by the State Bar of California with a nomination for the President's Pro Bono Service Award. Jason also has been named a Southern California Super Lawyer for the second year in a row. Back |
