Rachel Stilwell Quoted in New York Times on Media Consolidation

New York Times, October 25, 2006 - Berger Kahn attorney Rachel Stilwell, an expert on media ownership issues, was quoted in the New York Times in an article entitled, "Ads Test Payola Case Settlement." Rachel said, "Radio promotion executives are still under enormous pressure to use tools that maximize radio airplay because airplay still sells recordings." Rachel has written about payola and was the national director of promotion for Verve Music before going to law school. She recently testified at a FCC hearing in Los Angeles on deregulation and media ownership. She is the author of "Which Public? Whose Interest? How the FCC's Deregulation of Radio Station Ownership Has Harmed the Public Interest, and How We Can Escape the Swamp," which was filed on August 30 with the FCC as an Official Comment in FCC Proceeding 06-121 on Media Ownership. The article was also published in September in the Loyola of Los Angeles Entertainment Law Review.
