Jason Wallach Recognized for Pro Bono Work Daily Journal, December 4, 2006 -- Marina del Rey principal Jason Wallach is featured in a special Daily Journal supplement honoring pro bono achievements. In an article entitled "Risk and Reward," Jason was recognized for volunteering his time and expertise to Public Counsel's Debtor Assistance Project representing low-income consumers in bankruptcy proceedings. Jason, who is chair of the Los Angeles County Bar Association's Pro Bono Bankruptcy Committee, said the project's effectiveness results partially from its cooperation with the bench. "Judges sometimes have a hard time maintaining their calendars and their judicial neutrality when it is clear that an unrepresented debtor doesn't have a clue about their legal rights, alternatives or the decisions facing them," he said. Jason is a recipient of Public Counsel's prestigious William J. Lasarow Award for Outstanding Pro Bono Service for 2006, Public Counsel's Debtor Assistance Project Advocate of the Year for 2003, and a nominee for the State Bar of California's 2004 President's Pro Bono Service Award. He has been named a Southern California Super Lawyer for the third year in a row. Back |
