	Berger Kahn Names Two New Principals Jeffrey S. Crowe and Ross C. Smith have been named principals of the firm, effective February 1. "Jeff and Ross are exceptional attorneys and they have made significant contributions to the firm. We look forward to their continued success," said Managing Partner Craig S. Simon. Jeff is a member of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Team and serves as co-chair of the firm's Professional Development Committee. He concentrates his practice on complex civil litigation, with an emphasis on business litigation and insurance bad faith. He also has broad civil litigation experience in matters involving real estate, product liability, and medical malpractice. Jeff joined Berger Kahn in 2001 as an associate. He received his B.A. from California State University, Long Beach and graduated magna cum laude from Whittier Law School in 2001, where he was Lead Articles Editor for the Whittier Law Review and a recipient of the Whittier Law Review Outstanding Candidate Award. He is the author of "New v. Armour Pharmaceutical Co. and The Twilight Zone Of Injury: Discussing The Statute of Limitations' Role In Contemporary Wrongful Infliction of AIDS and Toxic Torts Cases," 22 Whittier L. Rev. 91 (2001). During law school, Jeff served as a judicial extern to Presiding Justice David G. Sills of the California Court of Appeal, Fourth District, Division Three. Ross has a broad-based practice focusing on business litigation, insurance coverage, labor and employment, and intellectual property matters. He has prevailed on summary judgment in numerous cases, including a corporate shareholder dispute in which his client had been wrongfully terminated. Ross received his J.D. from Cornell Law School in 1998 with an emphasis in international legal affairs and a concentration in business and regulatory law. Prior to law school, Ross obtained his Bachelor's degree in Political Science with honors from North Dakota State University. He joined Berger Kahn in 2001.
