Berger Kahn Principals Named Co-Chairs of ABA International Entertainment Dispute Resolution Subcommittee LOS ANGELES -- Berger Kahn principals Owen J. Sloane and Teresa R. Tracy have been appointed co-chairs of the American Bar Association's International Entertainment Dispute Resolution Subcommittee. The new subcommittee was formed to expand the use, availability and understanding of ADR in international entertainment disputes. "Digital entertainment is transforming the world," says Sloane, co-chair of the committee. "International entertainment ADR must grow to meet the demands of the international business community. According to Sloane, the subcommittee will concentrate on ways to make dispute resolution in the international entertainment community more relevant, effective and viable. Sloane is a principal in Berger Kahn's Los Angeles office and co-chair of the firm's Entertainment and Media Group. He is one of the entertainment industry's most respected attorneys with more than 35 years of experience handling complex entertainment industry transactions for some of the world's most successful musical talent, including Suzanne Vega, Chris Daughtry, and the Frank Zappa Estate. Sloane, who also serves as an expert witness and litigation consultant, has been selected by his peers three times as a Southern California Super Lawyer in the area of Entertainment. He graduated cum laude from Yale Law School and received his BA with Honors and Distinction from Cornell University. Sloane has been invited to speak at MUSEXPO, Digital Music Forum West, Harvard, UCLA, Stanford, and many other professional organizations. He has been quoted as an expert source in the Wall St. Journal, Los Angeles Times, and Billboard, among other publications. Sloane has served on the Board of the Los Angeles Chapter of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences and the City of Los Angeles Grammy Host Committee. Tracy is chair of the firm's Labor & Employment Group. She has successfully represented management in all areas of labor and employment law and litigation, including contracts, wrongful termination litigation, discrimination claims, wage and hour matters, class action and collective action litigation, affirmative action, audits, union organizing campaigns, grievances and arbitrations, and collective bargaining. Tracy has extensive experience representing clients as an advocate in ADR proceedings, and designing ADR contracts and policies. She has advised both talent and entertainment companies in entertainment matters. Tracy has been selected five times by her peers as a Southern California Super Lawyer in the area of Labor & Employment. In 2005, she was identified as one of the "Top 75 Women Litigators" in the Los Angeles/San Francisco Daily Journal.
