Jason Wallach Named A Southern California Super Lawyer Jason Wallach, a noted bankruptcy attorney and business litigator from the Marina del Rey office of Berger Kahn, has been named a Southern California Super Lawyer by Los Angeles Magazine and Southern California Super Lawyers. Jason was selected as a Southern California Super Lawyer for 2005 in a rigorous process of peer nomination and independent research that identifies lawyers who are judged to be superior in their individual practice areas. Fewer than 5 percent of attorneys eligible were chosen for this honor. "We are very gratified that Jason has been chosen for this important distinction, but we have always regarded Jason as a super lawyer. He is an experienced attorney of exceptional intelligence, integrity and dedication to his clients," said Allen L. Michel, managing partner of the Los Angeles office. Over 65,000 ballots were distributed to attorneys across Southern California, which formed the basis of the nominations for "Super Lawyers." The results of the Southern California Super Lawyers poll appeared in the February 2005 issue of Los Angeles Magazine and Southern California Super Lawyers 2005, a publication from the publishers of Law & Politics Media, Inc. A principal of Berger Kahn, Jason has more than 25 years of experience representing debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, investors, shareholders, spouses and others in all aspects of Chapter 7, 11 and 13 bankruptcies and appeals. He regularly advises individuals and businesses on the benefits and detriments of bankruptcy, insolvency proceedings and alternatives. Jason also has broad experience in litigating business disputes, with particular expertise in attachments and other pre-judgment remedies. Jason serves on the Executive Committees of the Los Angeles County Bar Association's Commercial Law and Bankruptcy Section and the Provisional and Post-Judgment Remedies Section, and is Chair of the Pro Bono Bankruptcy Committee. He recently was honored by the State Bar of California with a nomination for the 2004 President's Pro Bono Service Award. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania majoring in International Relations (BA, 1971), Jason graduated from the New York University School of Law (JD, 1974). He is a member of the New York and California bars and is admitted to practice before the Second and Ninth Circuit Courts of Appeals, the Bankruptcy Appellate Panel, the United States District and Bankruptcy Courts, Southern and Eastern Divisions of New York, and Southern, Central and Northern Districts of California.
